CAE System
Energy Saving Certificates (CAEs) were created as a mechanism to promote energy efficiency. The system began with the Royal Decree 36/2023 of January 26, 2023, and it has been with the Order TED/815/2023, dated July 18. The CAE is a document that certifies the annual energy savings of an investment, becoming an asset that can be bought/sold through the Delegated and/or Obligated Entities.

It is a new way to monetize investment actions in energy saving.
It is a system based on the models of other European systems, which have been in operation for more than 10 years.
There are several actors within the system:
Obligated entities
Energy service companies.
Delegated subjects
Certified intermediary companies of the system to be able to market said savings.
Verification Companies
Companies accredited by ENAC to validate the declared savings.
Owner of the savings
Person or company that makes the investment in energy savings and therefore generates the savings transferable to CAE. Intermediaries/installers: companies that pool savings to accumulate them and transfer them to a SD or SO.
How does the system work?
The SO needs the CAE to be able to prove the energy savings to which they are subject through the law, therefore, the initial owners of the savings will be able to sell it through the different actors of the system.
The owner of the savings ALWAYS There must be some consideration for the transfer of said savings, whether monetary or in kind.
Savings The calculations will be based on actions taken or planned, using forms categorized by law. These forms encompass many different actions, and the energy savings for each action are derived from them.
